Despite it being a small town Lovington, New Mexico offers many sports choices for both spectators and athletes alike.
The Lovington Wildcats high school football team has been one of the best in New Mexico winning 17 state titles, four of which have been in the last six years. Brian Urlacher is just one of the former players on the Wildcats. Since then he has established himself as one of the best defensive players in the NFL and currently plays for the Chicago bears. Watching the football games are one of the favorite activities for many of the residents of this town.
However, football isn’t the only choice of sports in the town. Golfers can go hit the links at the Lovington Country Club which is home to an 18 hole golf course and a driving range with 25 tees. Lovington is just 20 miles from Hobbs, New Mexico which also boasts 2 golf courses.
The area’s rich western history and climate also makes it a great place for equestrians or those just interested in learning how to ride horses.
During the summer there are plenty of activities for sports enthusiasts who want to participate in them and in the fall everyone can look forward to watching one of the best football teams in New Mexico.
