America is full of sports towns. Every major city in America and even some small towns produce sports stars. New York has its street legend basketball players, Chicago churn out basketball, football, and baseball stars, every town in Texas and Florida is a football heaven for college recruiters. But the best sports town in the country is Los Angeles. L. A. is the choice because of the wide variety of sports stars that grew up in the area. Basketball, football, baseball, soccer, surfing, track and field, tennis, even NASCAR stars hail from the L. A. area. In addition to stars of mainstream sports like Paul Pierce of the Boston Celtics and Tom Brady, the star quarterback of the New England Patriots, L. A. also produces stars of lesser known like the Williams sisters in tennis. Serena and Vennis hail from Compton where they learned the game from their father. Southern Cal is the surfing and body building capital of the world. There is an argument that other areas produce more sports talent than Los Angeles, but for the sheer number of stars from nearly every major sport in the world, the city of angels has to be the number one choice.
